Mended is a story about loss and friendship.

In it, we meet Beetle; a lonely insect who polishes his prized vase during a storm. His night is soon turned upside down, however, as the storm brings several shelter-seeking bugs to his door. It is only after the storm has passed, however, that Beetle realizes what is truly precious to him.

Created at Central Michigan University, Directors Megan Blades, Cady Stalvey, and Ava Ciaramitaro spent their senior year crafting the entire world of Mended from scratch. They built every set, puppet, and prop by hand, carefully lighted, positioned, and snapped photos of each and every frame, and worked tirelessly on the post effects, editing and sound design of this film.
